Yes, DECS is a service that runs on the Domino Server. I would think setting up a Domino server, just to run DECS would be quite easy. The installation wizards are straightforward and even ask you if you want to use DECS and it gets turned on automatically. I think you could run it on practically any decent Windows Box and the ODBC setup is simple too. The only complexity is getting through your network security but you'll have to do that regardless. Watch that Webcast. I posted the URL. I think you'll be amazed by the power of DECS and how much you get for little effort.
